Many of you might be taking a look at this awesome website for the first time...or maybe this is your 2nd, 3rd, 145th time. Either way, you want to know just a little bit more about us. Well, you're in the right place...we believe that "it's ALL about JESUS" and that the Bible is God's authoritative word without any mixture of error whatsoever, and below are just a few (out of the many) scriptures and thoughts that we're using to guide us...
Matthew 16:17-17...He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven." (ESV)
It really is that simple, it's all about Jesus. All that we do, whether fun or serious, hard or easy, far away or close will have Jesus at it's center. Why? Because Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and must be at the center of our hearts, our homes, and our lifestyles.
1st Timothy 4:12...Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. (NASB)
Here at Temple we don't just believe that the youth are our future...they are here for the present as well, and we equip and expect each of our youth to be servant leaders in our Church.
Matthew 22:36-39...Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (KJV)
This is our PURPOSE, to Love the Lord with all that we are...every ounce of our being, and love everyone around us with the same love we have for ourselves. We want to be a youth group that is whole-heartedly LOVING GOD...LOVING OTHERS!
Matthew 28:19-20...Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (NKJV)
This is our GOAL, to go anywhere and everywhere to share the Gospel and to teach them everything God has taught us! We want to be faithful to reach and teach this world for Christ!
Colossians 3:23...Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. (ESV)
This is our HEARTBEAT, all of these things are worthless if we are doing them for our own personal gain or glory...we want to do this for the GLORY OF GOD ALONE...not ourselves, not our friends, not our dogs...for God and God alone!
